Physical Education (PE)
Christ Church School believes that Physical Education, experienced in a safe and supportive environment, is vital and unique in its contribution to a pupil’s physical and emotional development and health.
We are proud to hold the Sainsbury’s GOLD Kite Mark Award – signifying our excellence in sporting provision.
At Christ Church, we aim to achieve the correct balance between healthy competition and inclusiveness. All abilities are catered for and every pupil is encouraged to enjoy a recreational interest in individual or team games, while developing a healthy attitude to fitness and exercise.
Our pupils gain much enjoyment from coaching in core sports, including; Rugby, Hockey, Cricket, Tennis, Netball and Football. There are also many opportunities for pupils to try other sports in PE sessions or in co-curricular clubs, including; Swimming, Basketball, Athletics, Dance and Tri-Golf amongst others.
In addition to a range of teacher led clubs, we are partnered with Shine After School Clubs who offer after school sports provision.
Throughout the year, we engage in tournaments with local schools, and schools further afield, through the Ashton Park School Sports Partnership. Christ Church has a long-standing reputation of success at these tournaments, where our children’s abilities are able to shine – leading to further success at regional tournaments.
Each year we hold our Annual Sports day at Clifton College - a house event where children from Reception to Year 6 earn points for their House.
