We started our transport topic this week with a focus on trains. We read ‘The Train Ride’ and welcomed Sue from the Platform rail team for a train safety workshop. We learnt lots of train facts and  how to stay safe on the train ahead of our trip next week. A group of us made salsa for the veg power Tuesday tasting. We developed our skills of cutting, squeezing and mixing. Look out in the newsletter next week for what the next group made for the Tuesday tasting. The highlight for reception this week was to be able to bring in our bears and cuddly creatures for the World Book Day teddy bears’ picnic. We all drew our bears and described them using our fantastic phonics. We hope you enjoy reading Arabella and Oliver’s writing. We made bookmarks, wrote invitations to the picnic and enjoyed creating our own picnics in the classroom. We also got to meet our buddies and share our favourite stories with them over a hot chocolate and biscuit. We were excited to share our bears with them as well.

We had a great week and are very excited for our train trips next week.
