It feels like we have time travelled to prehistoric times this week! In year 3 we have continued with our English story ‘Stone Age Boy’ and acted out life in the stone age camp. The children really got into character and the drama has really helped inspire their writing. In fact, it was quite hard to get the children back out of character! We also decided to create our own ‘rock art’. After studying cave paintings and other petroglyphs we used a mixture of plaster of paris and sand to create rock slabs. Once these have fully dried, we will be carving into them just like in Palaeolithic times, using original artwork to help inspire us.  We can’t wait to continue exploring this period of History and can here mutterings of what the children have planned for their project homework!
