Search for the hero inside yourself! Some of you may remember this as a song by M People released in 1995 I used to sometimes play it in assembly as the children arrive so they may know it. Not everyone likes to think of themselves as a superhero, many would say they are just doing their job. Whatever you are doing whether it is creating a new way of living at home, working at home or learning at home we are all searching for the hero inside ourselves at this difficult time, so add the song to your playlist and share this story now released by UNICEF https://www.unicef.org/coronavirus/my-hero-you. We are all superheroes if we keep safe, care for each other and demonstrate our school values; cooperation, honesty, respect, responsibility, aspiration and kindness.
There have been some great stories in the media over recent weeks.
Thomas Moore (born 30 April 1920), informally known as Captain Tom, on 6th April 2020, at the age of 99, he began to walk around his garden in aid of NHS Charities Together during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the goal of raising £1,000 by his hundredth birthday. By 22 April he had raised over £28.2 million.
In Bristol you may have seen on Points West, Frank Mills aged 6 walking 10m each day on his walking frame, he aimed to raise £99 but has now raised £150 000.
Here is Charlie, who is in Year 2 at our school, making cloth bags to give to NHS workers to safely transport their uniforms. How brilliant, well done Charlie!
The Christ Church Parents’ Prayer group are still meeting to pray for our school and community via zoom. Pastor Ruthy has extended a welcome to anyone who would like to join the group. Here is the information –it is currently set up as an ongoing meeting:

Reception intake September 2020
Reception places for starting school in September 2020 were offered this week. Please do not forget to accept your place by Thursday, 30th April as instructed in the offer email from Bristol City Council. We will look forward to welcoming the new children joining our school and will begin making contact about starting school once we have the list of children who have accepted places with us.
Sharing what you are doing at home
We hope you have been participating in the homelearning opportunities. If you would like to share a photo of what you have been doing please use the school email or Szapp it. Please be mindful to only send no more than a couple of photos a week as it will not be possible for us to look at them all if we get lots daily from everyone. Why not keep a file of what you are doing at home and we would love to see them when we can all get back together at school.
The Written Statement of Action is Bristol City Council’s response to the Ofsted/Care Quality Commission (CQC) Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) inspection which took place in our local area at the end of last year.
