Shuffle-Up
We are looking forward to welcoming the children for their shuffle-up session. Please read the emails sent via parentpay about groups and timings. I have also written a letter to the children via email to reassure them that a warm welcome awaits them next week.
Please return any school reading books that you have at home for us to sort over the Summer, ready for September, when you come in for your visit.
Parent/teacher phonecalls
All teachers have now made their phonecalls. If you were unable to take the call from the teacher they will have left an answerphone message and will try again next week.
September
We are working through the guidance regarding the full return to school for all in September. I will communicate to you next week how our plans are progressing.
Year 6
Please see the letter regarding collection of Hoodies and a zoom meeting.
Google Classroom and Questionaire
Please try logging into Google classroom to ensure you are able to access this. The teachers are posting a few items to trial its use. Next week we are asking parents/carers to complete a short questionnaire about access to the internet and IT tools to support homelearning.
Key worker children from bubble B and C created amazing Art works after studying the work of William Morris. He designed wallpapers, furniture, stained glass and textiles. He explored colour, symmetry and structure in his patterns and was inspired by nature. The children researched their ideas on the iPads, then drew and coloured their beautiful Art. We also discussed his ideology and beliefs. He argued that all children should be taught to draw as well as read and write. He also believed in social equality and the right for all men and women. At home, find information about William Morris and draw your own Art work. Please send it to us, we would love to see your creations.
This week we looked at the street artist 'Keith Haring' and created our own pictures in his bold, graffiti style.
Key Worker Bubble A
The children in one of the Key Worker bubbles watched Art Ninja on BBC Bitesize and decided they would like to try painting dragons. The used finger painting and produced some great work. Well done everyone.
This week Reception have been having a ‘roar-some’ time learning all about dinosaurs! We have created our own fossils by making shell imprints on clay and had lots of fun making dinosaur pictures. We’ve loved exploring outside too and even made a ladybird friend!
This week year 1 have been busy writing their own 'Wild Rumpus' poems. They thought carefully about the characters and how Max and the wild things must have moved and felt. This led to some super descriptive words and phrases. In Art this week year 1 also designed their own front covers for their Where the Wild Things Are stories.
Annie's robot nanny for Mr Curry
One of the Year 3 art tasks were to design a robot nanny to help Mr Curry with his parenting on baby Harry ❤️. Annie here had designed a robot nanny for baby Harry. She has a baby mobile to help him sleep. She is a very quiet and gentle babysitter. She has special tricks up her sleeve
Mr Curry will be so relieved to see another design. Well done Annie.
