Well done to our groups of children in Year 6, 1 and Reception who spent this week in school with our Key worker bubbles. It was great to welcome you back. Thank you to the parents and carers for supporting with the new routines at pick up and drop off to keep everyone safe.
There is a gallery of images and film on Szapp to show the children in action. We are making use of the outdoors, everyone has a turn in our new outside classroom every day; it has really been an asset. Some of the teachers; Mrs Richardson, Miss Cator, Miss Riddiford and Mrs Derrington have recorded story times, these can be viewed via Szapp. There are great performances from the children enjoying drama activities. Mr Campbell has led assemblies and his on location assistant Forbes has made another appearance from the heights of the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
We have been very impressed with how quickly the children have followed the new routines and adapted to the new layout of their classrooms and rooms they use in order that children and staff feel safe in school. Please can I remind parents/carers that social distancing guidance still needs to be followed out of school. The children have made their own observations that it is not consistently happening which therefore gives mixed messages to the children.
Whilst we have no further guidance yet about what school provision will look like in September we are sharing information from Shine who are offering Summer activities, these are bookable via their website. Also, our uniform supplier Famous School Branches has relocated to larger premises in Stoke Gifford under a new brand name of Monkhouse.
A letter detailing term 6 arrangements was shared via parentpay on Monday and a letter will be sent next week detailing arrangements for parent/teacher and teacher/child conversations. Annual school reports will be posted w/c 29th June and class teacher information for the new school year will follow the reports.
We look forward to seeing our next bubble groups return on Monday and do keep sending in photos and work to share with the teachers and our community.
It has been lovely seeing some of you back in school. Thanks for all of the AMAZING examples of your work. MrEades and I have loved seeing them all. Keep it up!

The Chronicle Team
Elliot from 2KF and Iris from 1AN made their new telephone and loved that it actually worked!
The Chronicle are looking for a couple of engineers. Great collaboration from The Bournes. See you tomorrow for The Chronicle Live. Invite coming soon.
Iris from 1AN loved making her Where the Wild Things Are storyboard.
I will pass this onto Miss Noble tomorrow. Well done Iris
The Chronicle Team
Elliot from 2KF had fun imagining what a missing poster for Max might look like.
Absolutely terrific work Elliot well done. Mrs Fowler will be super proud when she sees this.
The Chronicle Team
Great work by Julia from 5WB. Taking last week's story and creating a comic book.
Well done from The Chronicle Team
I re-used these items to make a fairy garden and I put some basil seeds in. I have watered it and left it in the sun. No basil has grown yet. I keep checking it - Day 6 so far.
Pippa RRP
Super work Pippa - keep The Chronicle Team posted on your progress. Does the fairy have a name?
We spoke about planets and read books on planets and she truly enjoyed the song about planets which was in the learning link. Her little sister enjoyed it even more. Now they are constantly talking about the names of the planets.
Well done Rhea. Click the link for another fun song about the planets to accompany the teachers' link.
Rhea made a fantastic rocket from the recycling item that she collected. She also spoke about her friends as she joined Mr Campbell on the school assembly.
Awesome creativity Rhea. The question is ;
If you could fly your rocket to any planet, which one would you choose?
Well done from The Chromcle Team.
Live life and prosper
Term 6, week 3 was unlikely to be an ordinary week of home learning for Christ Church 4KC pupil, Inez, as she rummaged through her box of old books during her lunch hour, on a warm and sunny summer’s day with her family.
“What are you looking for?” was the question on everyone’s lips. “My old Tomi Ungerer book”, came the repeated reply. Sure enough, after a good deal of searching, Inez emerged smiling broadly, holding a copy of the late Tomi Ungerer’s book, Jean de la Lune, or, as it is better known in English, Moon Man. Mission accomplished!
The book was signed by Tomi Ungerer after Inez’s father thought that a personalised inscription would be the perfect present. Dad had the privilege of meeting and talking to the late author and illustrator of more than 140 books in the historic French city of Strasbourg, where Inez and her family lived until 2018 and where Tomi Ungerer was born. He still had relatives in the city and was visiting from Ireland, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
As a five year old, Inez and her classmates in France were busy reading and learning about some of Tomi Ungerer’s works for children, including Jean de la Lune.
Who would have thought that years later the book would be the subject of another class exercise in a different language?
After the surprise inclusion of Moon Man to her studies, Inez can’t wait to see what will follow.
Libby has designed a healthy school menu and been inspired by Bristol artist Jody Thomas to create a mural of herself and things that are important to her.
What a super inspiration to use Libby and a stunning piece of art.
Life cycles by Oscar T from RVA
Oscar spent time looking at life cycles of frogs and butterflies he drew and labelled the lifecycle ans then made different elements out of foam clay.
Oscar this is awesome. Such cool science. Stay tuned for STEM Week next year with loads of cool opportunities to learn and explore.
This is a Rob Biddulph drawing Grace did ,she wanted to say Hi to Miss Riddiford and the pupils in the key worker bubble after seeing the story on the Chronicle
Thanks Grace - I have passed this onto the bubble!!!

Grace this is brilliant - such a cool poster.
Dougie's Florence Nightingale diary entries - phew! extremely hard work!
Awesome writing Dougie (Miss Holland)
Both Sophie and Pippa have enjoyed calling each other a few times over the lockdown period. Today on their chat, Sophie explained how to play her cello and is hoping to play it next time :)
Pippa suggested playing naughts and crosses together and they had 4 games .. 2 draws and 2 wins to Sophie. Pippa has won a few time since against me :)
The buddy system is so lovely to keep communication going.
Thank you Sophie for your time x
Jonah 2 KF learning to play the piano
Jonah 2 KF just started learning how to play the piano and loves his new skill.
Maybe you could record a video and send it into the newsdesk'
Superb Jonah
Hi Miss Riddiford,
this is a tree collage that I did, using animals cut out from the envelope of my eco-kids magazine
best wishes
Grace
Such a beautiful drawing Grace.
Neave worked really hard think about what she would need for her underwater adventure. She then drew pictures of the items she would take and a beach picture of her wearing her swimming suit and goggles on the beach. She sounded out the words and checked the spelling before she wrote them down.
Awesome work Neave on so many levels. Outstanding.
